Sex Offender Unit This unit is staffed by two specially trained officers. These officers review the Illinois Sex Offender Registration prior to sentencing to assure that the offender understands his duty to register as a sex offender. Probation officers work collaboratively with law enforcement agencies, the community, and those specializing in sex offender treatment.
Officers in this unit have received specialized training and are participants in the Illinois Family Violence Coordinating Council.
Domestic violence cases receive intensive supervision. Officers are in regular contact and work collaboratively with treatment providers and the Winnebago County State's Attorney. They also work closely with judges in the criminal and civil components of the Domestic Violence Court.
